That's a crazy post for me. I'm starting sim when i'm 16 and i push all my life in it. I was a not bad driver but after 8 years life request my presence so, i'm quit. In that period happens a lot of things, i'm focused on my job, i have a family and i have a lot of things to do. But now, after 10 years, i to come back to Sim. I've decided to come back because after my father's death i understand that i can't quit my passion, i need to do it. So, i come back and buy a new PC, a new rig (my first one) and i upgrade my wheel to a new one.

My new PC

At the start i've recover some parts that was in my old PC, like the CPU and the motherboard, but i buy a new GPU and a new RAM. Returnring to Sim is expensive and i thinking about to buy something cheaper and focus on the rig. To play on Assetto Cora Competizione and iRacing i don't need a super GPU so i've decide to complete this setup:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS
  • GPU: ATI Radeon RX 7800 XT
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200
  • Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVMe SSD
  • Power Supply: Corsair RM750x 750W 80+ Gold
  • Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow

My new Rig

I was thinking about to buy a cheap rig, but after some research i understand that i need a good one to play on Sim. So, i buy a mid level rig with a good quality/price ratio. I buy a Next Level Racing F-GT Lite (that incorporates a seat) and a i've upgrade my wheel from Logitech G27 to a Fanatec CSL DD.

Fun fact: The day before the Fanatec package arrives, i was at a soccer match and i was injured by my left hand. So, i was not able to use the wheel for around two week. After that i leave Italy for my honey moon and i was not able to use the wheel for around two week. So, i was not able to use the wheel for around a month 🤣

How to came back to Sim

I'm not a pro driver, but i have some requests to come back to Sim. At the start i join some open lobbies on Assetto Corsa Competizione and train on some tracks. After that i discover Low Fuel Motorsport and i join their community. I love this site because transport the "backbone" created from iRacing to Assetto Corsa Competizione. After some races i've decided to join their league and start a #19 seaseon. Wish me luck!
